Course Overview
The UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) is a national-level competitive examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to various Civil Services of the Government of India, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and other Central Services.
The selection process consists of three stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Personality Test/Interview. The Preliminary Examination includes General Studies Paper I and General Studies Paper II (CSAT). Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination become eligible for the Main Examination, which consists of descriptive papers. Candidates who qualify in the Main Examination are called for the Personality Test/Interview.
