Vacancy Details

DRDO states that the number of vacancies may change according to organizational requirements.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must satisfy one of the following qualification routes:

Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Science or equivalent:

B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science or an equivalent engineering discipline in First Division from an AICTE-accredited institute/university, along with CSIR-UGC NET/GATE qualification.

OR

M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science or equivalent engineering discipline, with First Division at both Graduate and Postgraduate levels, from AICTE-accredited institutes/universities.

Electrical / Electronics / Telecommunication / Instrumentation or equivalent:

B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Instrumentation Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline in First Division, along with CSIR-UGC NET/GATE qualification.

OR

M.E./M.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Instrumentation Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline, with First Division at both Graduate and Postgraduate levels.

Desirable Skills

DRDO lists desirable expertise including:

Proficiency in design and analysis of algorithms
Programming skills in C, C++ and Python
HMI development
Experience with open-source system development frameworks
Knowledge of major Machine Learning algorithms
Communication Engineering and DSP algorithms
Working knowledge of embedded systems and design
Exposure to Cognitive Technologies

Age Limit

Maximum Age: 28 years

Age is calculated as on the last date for receipt of applications.

SC/ST/OBC-NCL: Upper-age relaxation is applicable according to Government of India rules.

Stipend

Monthly Stipend: ₹37,000

HRA: Applicable as per rules

No other allowances will be paid during the fellowship period.

Fellowship Duration

Initial Duration: 2 years

The fellowship may be extended for a further 2 years according to the rules in force.

Selection Method: Interview

Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview.

Important Conditions

Candidates already awarded a JRF position in any DRDO laboratory, centre or establishment are not eligible to apply again.

Candidates working in Government departments, PSUs or autonomous bodies should apply through the proper channel and must produce the required No Objection Certificate.

The fellowship is purely temporary and does not provide any right to permanent absorption or employment in DRDO.
