Eligibility

This is a very senior-level appointment, not a regular recruitment open to general graduates.

Eligible applicants are eminent retired or serving persons, including:

Scientists
Technologists
Academicians
Civil Servants

Applicants must be at the level of Secretary to the Government of India, corresponding to Level 17 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix / ₹2,25,000 pay level.

Age Limit

The official notification does not prescribe a conventional maximum application age in the way normal recruitments do. Instead, the appointment will continue for:

3 years OR until attainment of 65 years of age, whichever is earlier.

Pay & Perks

Pay Level: Level 17 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix

Pay Level Amount: ₹2,25,000

For the re-employment arrangement, the notification specifies:

Basic Pay (less pension): ₹1,12,500

Job Description

The Chairperson, RAC will primarily be responsible for formulating policies relating to recruitment and assessment of DRDO and ADA scientists.

The Chairperson will also provide guidance to ensure objectivity and confidentiality in selection activities and work towards maintaining a high level of satisfaction among stakeholders.

Selection Process

Selection Method: High-level Search-cum-Selection Committee

The Chairperson will be appointed on re-employment on contract.

Selection will be made through a high-level Search-cum-Selection Committee appointed by the Government of India, in accordance with applicable DoP&T instructions and with the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

The committee can also consider suitable persons other than those who submit biodata against this advertisement.

Duration of Appointment

Appointment Period: 3 years

Until the selected person reaches 65 years of age

Whichever is earlier.
