Educational Qualification

B.Sc.

Candidates should have completed a full-time regular B.Sc. course with First Division from a recognized Indian University/Institute in the relevant subject.

Eligible subjects include Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Food Science & Technology and Life Sciences.

B.E./B.Tech

Candidates should have completed a full-time regular B.E./B.Tech course with First Division from a recognized Indian University/Institute in the relevant discipline, including Polymer Science.

Year of Passing

Candidates who passed their qualifying B.Sc./B.E./B.Tech degree in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 are eligible.

Candidates who passed before 2022 are not eligible.

Only candidates who completed the qualifying examination as regular candidates are eligible.

NATS Registration

Candidates must register on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal.

Candidates who are not registered on NATS are liable to have their applications rejected.

Stipend

Monthly Stipend: ₹12,300

Training Duration

Duration: 12 Months

The 12-month training period starts from execution of the apprenticeship contract. Selected candidates must execute the prescribed contract under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and applicable rules.

Documents

The prescribed application form must be submitted along with self-attested photocopies of all relevant documents.

Selected candidates will also be required to submit a Police Verification Certificate at the time of joining. Credentials will be verified before creation of the apprenticeship contract.

Selection / Verification

Candidates must satisfy all eligibility conditions.

DIBT will verify the credentials of selected candidates before creating the apprenticeship contract. If the candidate's qualifications or documents do not conform to the prescribed requirements, the candidature can be rejected.

Accommodation & Transport

DIBT will not provide Government quarters, hostel accommodation or transportation to apprentices during the training period.

Employment After Apprenticeship

Completion of the apprenticeship does not create any obligation on DIBT/DRDO to provide employment to the apprentice after the training period.
