Candidates must possess a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
Candidates who are currently in the final year/semester of graduation can also apply provisionally. If selected, they must produce proof that they passed graduation on or before 31 December 2026.
Age is calculated as on 1 April 2026.
Minimum Age: 20 years
Maximum Age: 28 years
Candidates must have been born not earlier than 2 April 1998 and not later than 1 April 2006, both dates inclusive.

Eligible SBI-trained apprentices receive separate relaxation depending on their category.
Candidates can apply for vacancies in only one State/UT.
They must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking and understanding the specified local language selected for that State/UT.
Candidates who studied the specified language in Class 10 or Class 12 and can produce the relevant marksheet/certificate are exempt from the language test. Others must pass SBI's Local Language Proficiency Test before joining.
The SBI Clerk 2026 selection process consists of:
Phase I – Preliminary Examination
Phase II – Main Examination
Phase III – Local Language Proficiency Test, where applicable.
There is no interview for SBI Junior Associate recruitment. Final merit is based on Main Examination performance, subject to meeting eligibility and local-language requirements. Preliminary Examination marks are not added to the final merit list.

Each section has a separate time limit.
Wrong Answer: 1/4th of the marks assigned to the question will be deducted.
Unanswered Question: No penalty.
SBI has prescribed no minimum qualifying marks for individual sections or aggregate score in the Preliminary Examination. Approximately 10 times the number of vacancies, subject to availability and SBI's decision, will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

There is 1/4th negative marking for incorrect answers in the objective tests.
Preliminary Examination marks are not counted for final selection.
Final merit is primarily prepared from the aggregate marks obtained in the Main Examination, State-wise and category-wise.

Medical fitness and other SBI requirements.
General/OBC/EWS: ₹750
SC/ST/PwBD/XS/DXS: No Fee
The application fee is non-refundable.
Pay Scale: ₹24,050 – ₹64,480
Graduate Junior Associates receive two advance increments.
Starting Basic Pay: ₹26,730
The official notification states that total starting emoluments at a metro location such as Mumbai will be approximately ₹46,000 per month, including DA and applicable allowances. Actual allowances vary depending on the place of posting.
Selected employees are also eligible for applicable benefits such as provident fund, defined-contribution pension, medical benefits, leave-fare benefits and other facilities under SBI rules.
Minimum Probation: 6 Months
New Junior Associates must complete the e-learning modules prescribed by SBI during probation. Failure to complete the required modules or meet performance expectations can result in extension of probation.
Posting
Candidates can apply against vacancies in one State/UT only, and merit lists are prepared State-wise and category-wise.
There is no provision for inter-circle/inter-state transfer before completion of 5 years of service. After five years, transfer requests may be considered only in exceptional situations such as extreme compassionate grounds or spouse grounds, subject to SBI's policy and discretion.
Job Profile
Selected candidates will work as Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) in SBI's clerical cadre.
The notification states that recruits should have a flair for marketing and may be required to handle customer calls, banking services, advisory services, cross-selling of products and duties inside or outside bank premises. The work may involve outdoor travel, flexible working hours and shifts depending on requirements.
