The fellowships are available in scientific/engineering disciplines specified by DMSRDE in the notification.

Educational Qualification

Research Associate (RA)

Candidates should possess the prescribed Ph.D. in the relevant discipline or equivalent research qualification/experience specified by DRDO.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Candidates should possess the prescribed Postgraduate degree in the relevant basic science discipline with NET qualification or B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in the relevant Engineering discipline, as applicable to the particular fellowship.

Candidates must satisfy the exact discipline-wise qualification specified by DMSRDE.

Age Limit

Research Associate: Maximum 35 years

Junior Research Fellow: Maximum 28 years

Age relaxation is applicable according to Government of India/DRDO rules for eligible reserved categories.

Fellowship / Stipend

Research Associate: ₹67,000 per month + HRA

Junior Research Fellow: ₹37,000 per month + HRA

The fellowship and HRA are payable according to applicable DRDO rules.

Fellowship Duration

The fellowship is initially offered for the period prescribed by DRDO and may be extended subject to satisfactory performance and applicable rules.

The fellowship does not constitute permanent employment in DRDO.

Selection Process

Walk-in Interview → Document Verification → Final Selection

There is no separate online written examination for this recruitment.

Candidates must attend the walk-in interview with the prescribed application and original documents.
