Eligibility

The recruitment is intended for highly experienced senior professionals.

Eligible candidates include eminent retired/serving Scientists, Technologists, Civil Servants and Academicians at the level of Secretary to the Government of India (Pay Level 17), subject to the conditions prescribed in the notification.

Pay Scale

Pay Level: Level 17, 7th CPC

Pay: ₹2,25,000 per month

This corresponds to the Apex-level senior Government position specified for Chairperson RAC.

Job Responsibilities

The Chairperson RAC is primarily responsible for formulating policies related to recruitment and assessment of DRDO scientists.

The Chairperson also provides guidance to ensure objectivity, confidentiality and effectiveness in RAC's selection and assessment activities.

Appointment Duration

The appointment is on a re-employment/contract basis.

Tenure: 3 years or until attaining 65 years of age, whichever is earlier.

Selection Process

Selection will be conducted through a high-level Search-cum-Selection Committee constituted by the Government of India.

The appointment is subject to the applicable Government/DoPT procedure and approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
