Eligibility

The internship is intended for eligible students pursuing relevant Undergraduate/Postgraduate courses in Engineering, Technology, Science or other disciplines required by SSPL.

Candidates must satisfy the discipline, academic-performance and institute-recommendation requirements specified in the official SSPL advertisement.

Internship Duration

6 Months

This is a temporary student internship programme and does not constitute employment with DRDO.

Stipend

For DRDO's six-month paid internship scheme, eligible interns receive:

₹5,000 per month

Total for 6 months: ₹30,000

The stipend is generally released in two instalments of ₹15,000 after 3 months and ₹15,000 after successful completion of 6 months, subject to the applicable internship conditions. This structure is stated in SSPL's published paid-internship guidelines.

Selection Process

SSPL reserves the right to shortlist candidates based on its requirements. Merely satisfying the minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee selection.

Candidates must submit the prescribed SSPL internship application along with the recommendation/approval of their educational institution as required by the notification.

Selected candidates may also be required to complete security/police verification formalities before joining.

Accommodation

Accommodation is not provided by DRDO/SSPL.

Expenses for accommodation, food, transportation, medical requirements and other personal expenses are generally borne by the intern under DRDO's internship conditions.
