Educational Qualification

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Candidates must possess the prescribed qualification in the relevant Science/Engineering discipline.

Depending on the post/discipline, the requirement includes a relevant Postgraduate degree with NET qualification or B.E./B.Tech with NET/GATE, or M.E./M.Tech, as specified by SSPL.

Research Associate (RA)

Candidates must possess the prescribed Ph.D. in the relevant discipline or equivalent research qualification/experience as specified for the RA position.

Candidates should ensure that their exact subject/discipline matches the official SSPL advertisement.

Age Limit

JRF: Maximum 28 years

RA: Maximum 35 years

Age relaxation is applicable to eligible reserved-category candidates according to Government of India/DRDO rules.

Fellowship

Junior Research Fellow (JRF): ₹37,000 per month + HRA

Research Associate (RA): ₹67,000 per month + HRA

HRA is admissible according to applicable DRDO rules.

Selection Process

Walk-in Interview → Document Verification → Final Selection

Candidates must appear personally for the walk-in interview with the prescribed application form and required original documents.

Documents Required

Fellowship Nature

JRF and RA appointments are temporary research fellowships.

Selection as a JRF or RA does not provide any right to permanent appointment or absorption in DRDO.

Continuation/extension of the fellowship is governed by DRDO rules and satisfactory performance.
